About Dr. J
A holistic physician, teacher, and lifelong student of the natural healing arts, Dr. J blends modern functional health with time-tested Eastern traditions.

Her Path
Dr. Lipham has practiced family medicine for more than 20 years and remains awe-inspired by her patients and the relationships formed through care. She is humbled by the opportunity to learn from, and walk with, each person on a journey toward healthy, balanced living.
As a Florida board-certified and licensed Doctor of Oriental Medicine with a Doctorate in Natural Medicine, she brings a broad integrative lens to primary care, natural therapeutics, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, nutrition, and lifestyle support.
From a young age, she knew she loved helping people feel better. Her early studies in biology, sociology, and emergency medicine eventually led her across the country to Portland, Oregon, where her understanding of medicine expanded through natural medicine and Oriental medicine.
Her work is rooted in the belief that the body has an innate healing mechanism that often responds best to gentle, precise support. Care focuses on removing obstacles to wellness and restoring the fundamental needs of the system as a whole.
Training
Dr. J graduated from Florida State University in 1997 with a foundation in biology and sociology before moving to Sarasota to study emergency medicine.
Her studies at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland included coursework in natural medicine, conventional medicine, and Oriental medicine.
After graduation, she attended an intensive study of the meditative martial art of Qi Gong in China and brought that lineage of practice back to her work in Sarasota.
Practice Philosophy
Sarasota Healing Arts exists so each person can leave feeling revitalized, empowered, and supported with a strategy for designing a better balance of life and living.
By blending Western natural medicine with the ancient wisdom of Eastern medicine, Dr. J works with patients to discover root causes and create an integrative treatment plan for optimum health.
Treat the patient, not the dis-ease.
Look for the root causes beneath symptoms.
Use the safest, most effective, least invasive care possible.
Honor the whole person: body, mind, spirit, lifestyle, and season of life.
Beyond her love for practicing the natural healing arts, Dr. J finds balance through nature, gardening, hiking, biking, swimming, family, friends, nourishing foods, water, air, and sunlight.
